Time for Testimony

I feel like this is the time to share a little bit of my story, my testimony, my beliefs, and my decision on raising MY children. As many of you know, Jason and I decided 3 1/2 years ago to go "all natural" when it comes to medicating our children. Now, I will tell you that when we first found out we were pregnant with Jax, I had no idea about any of this. I, like most people, thought vaccinations were what we were supposed to do. It's the norm, right? It keeps diseases away right? Well, thanks to my best friend, my confidant, and my mentor, Dr. Gideon Traweek, I was informed of the dangers, or so I might say, the truth. Now I'm not here to preach to any of you. I'm here because something very amazing keeps happening in our household, and everyday, my beliefs and my decisions continue to grow stronger and stronger. I am seeing something SO COOL happening right before my very eyes!

I do not have enough time to tell you the whole story on how long it took me to get to where I am today, or how much research I did, or how many people I've talked to over the years. But let me tell you......it was a LOT of work.....and EFFORT. But in order for my kids to live the healthiest life possible, I felt like it was something I needed to do. I needed to take the time, and the risk, simply for my boys. I was also aware of the negativity I would get from our families and our friends....and believe me, we have had our fair share of horrible comments! But because of the sacrifice we made to not only make this decision, but to also be willing to deal with society, our boys are living proof that GOD is in control. Not medicine, not doctors, not our government, not the pharmaceutical companies, only God. He made our bodies to do very special things, and one of them was to fight off diseases and sickness.

Now for my testimony: this last week has been the craziest and busiest week of my life (or so it feels like). We got mom and dad moved after long hours of total chaos, then somehow managed to squeeze in the Tech game then back to mom and dads for more unpacking, painting, and ripping down wallpaper. I knew that at some point somebody was going to crash.....and that somebody happened to be my little Maddox. Sunday, he started running some fever, no biggie, just figured it was his teeth. Monday rolls around and his fever gets up to 104. So I keep a cold rag on his head and give him a Popsicle (which is the only thing he would eat) and monitor him closely. No Motrin just keeping him comfortable and mom staying calm. No sleep Monday night, Tuesday morning, temp up to 104.8. Hmmm, I'm thinking by now it's time to take action. This is day 3 of a very high fever. Make a quick phone call to the one and only, Dr. Traweek, and he says, don't let it get above 105, (um, ok that's only an inch away from where we were standing) keep a cold rag on his head, give him ice chips and get him in asap to our Chiropractor for an adjustment. YEP....and adjustment! What does that do? Gives the immune system a huge boost! So that's what I did. 3 o'clock that afternoon, I had him in Dr. Wilson's office for an adjustment, ear check, and a total sense of relief for mommy. Get the poor little guy home, put him straight to bed, since sleep was the only thing that monster fever was letting him do, and wait....wait.....wait. I have to admit, as calm as I usually stay when the boys do get sick, this time around I was a little nervous. Getting close to 105 fever is a bit scary! Wednesday morning rolls around and Praise to the AMAZING MAN upstairs, his fever had broke, and my sweet little man was back to his usual self. He had a nasty cough and some green ooze coming out of his nose but to be expected after a ginormous fever like that. No meds, No ER, just a simple adjustment, vitamins, a lot of TLC, and most importantly, prayers:) I thank God everyday for the peace and comfort I feel with our decision. It's pretty amazing what the human body can do if we just give it a chance!

Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord,
and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
James 5:14-15

Lil Maddox the day his fever broke!
